We recently spent
a couple of days on the coast, visiting Broadstairs and Margate. Bethany got to play in the sand, paddle in the sea, and go on as many rides as she could find! She also experienced staying in a B&B.. something quite new to her. As you see below, she kinda liked the idea! (Click on the photos to see a bigger version.) |

For those of you who know the area, visiting Dreamland these days is a sad experience if, like me, you have some special childhood memories of it. Although there was enough to keep Bethany amused, most of the big rides are gone, and all that's left is empty space.
For those who don't know the park, it was opened in 1920, and is home to the Scenic Railway, the oldest operating roller coaster in the country. Sadly, it now looks like the park will close, and this ride will be destroyed. There is a campaign to try to save the park, and more details can be found here.
